Pontypridd Youth are gearing up for the start of a new season with the announcement of their new management team – former Pontypridd player Simon Bayliss as senior coach and former Pontypridd senior team manager Wayne Cullen now taking up a similar role with the Youth.
With Bayliss and Cullen at the reigns, and the Youth set-up linked directly to the senior squad at Pontypridd, there are exciting times ahead. Any new players interested in joining up with Pontypridd will be made most welcome as pre-season training resumes at the beginning of July.
Simon Bayliss represented his home town club of Pontypridd at all levels as a player and then went on to captain Abertillery. He also played for Treorchy, Abercynon and Llantwit Fardre. As a coach, Simon spent three seasons with Taffs Well before moving on to Newport Saracens.
Wayne Cullen has accumulated a huge amount of experience in rugby coaching and management, linked to his career in the British Army, and became Pontypridd senior team manager between 2003 and 2007.
Dates for pre-season training with Pontypridd Youth will be announced shortly. Any players interested in joining up with the squad can contact coach Simon Bayliss on:
