Going into a demanding run of fixtures to the end of the season, Pontypridd have been hit hard by an untimely spate of injuries.
The most recent victims from the league defeat at home to Neath last weekend were outside half Simon Humberstone and no8 Owen Sheppeard.
Humberstone has suffered knee ligament damage with the expectation that he will be out for the remainder of this campaign. Having missed the first half of the season recovering from a shoulder operation, the news is not good for the young pivot, but in the hope that scans carried out this week might alleviate the diagnosis.
Owen Sheppeard is another player who could struggle to feature again this season having limped off against Neath also with knee ligament damage and as with Humberstone will await the results of scans this week.
Prop Ryan Harford currently has his left leg in a protective case with suspected Achilles tendon damage suffered in the Premiership XV v Georgia representative match last week. Further diagnosis will be carried out when the cast is removed.
Previously ruled out of contention were prop Chris Phillips with a knee injury, hooker Jack Dando with a dislocated shoulder and scrum half Garyn Lucas with knee ligament damage, the latter two already written off for the remainder of this season.
