The final itinerary of the Dutch rugby tour to Pontypridd, on the weekend of 29th April, has been finalised. Much work has been put in to organising the tour, and the guests from the Dukes Rugby Club of 's-Hertogenbosch are sure to be given a warm Ponty welcome over their four day visit.
The tour schedule has been presented as follows:-
Friday April 28
Depart's-Hertogenbosch in two coaches. 104 people travelling in total - kids and adults.
Circa 17-30 arrive at Pontypridd RFC. Welcome and "meet and greet" in the Grandstand Lounge. Guests and hosts depart for homes and other accommodation circa 19-30.
Saturday April 29
09-00-10-00 Shake out/training session for the Dutch teams on Sardis Road ( if pitch and weather conditions permit). A request has been made for Neil Jenkins or some current first team members to attend. Taff Vale Park can be used as an alternative venue.
12 noon at the new war memorial on Pontypridd Common, the two
Mayors of Pontypridd and Rhondda Cynon Taff will receive a Dutch
wreath. Representing the Royal Regiment of Wales will be a standard
bearer, bugler and eighteen cadets in
uniform.
12-30 Depart for Glamorgan Wanderers for the premiership match against Pontypridd RFC (KO 14-30).
16-30 Depart from Glamorgan Wanderers for Pontypridd RFC.
18-30 Barbecue at Pontypridd RFC to be prepared by the Dutch guests.
Sunday April 30
10-00 KO Pontypridd Under 12 play The Dukes Under 12/13 at Cilfynydd (school pitch number1)
10-00 KO Pontypridd Under 14/15 play The Dukes Under 15 at Cilfynydd (school pitch number 2)
10-00 KO Pontypridd Under 16/17 play The Dukes Under 17 at Cilfynydd (main club pitch)
10-30 Mini Rugby Tournament starts at Sardis Road. The Dukes U8 and U10 to play.
16-30 Presentation of Tournament medals etc at Sardis Road.
17-30 Post Tournament Barbecue and party.
Monday May 1
08-30 Depart for The Netherlands from Sardis Road.
