Commercial & Marketing update

I would like to firstly thank our current sponsors and partners for their support this season, especially as their investment, along with that of our supporters who purchase season tickets, have helped strengthen a squad that is currently top of the Principality Premiership!

Without the support of our current sponsors and partners this would not be possible as their investment underpins the infrastructure and playing side of the club. Sponsorship these days is becoming hard to come by with us competing against the regional set-ups and with no positive media coverage of the Premiership.

The Premiership is supposedly the jewel in the crown of Welsh Rugby but without actively promoting the league, how can clubs secure sponsorship and investment - brands need media exposure! Fortunately our partners and sponsors see beyond this and recognise the value of the Pontypridd brand and of its loyal supporters who turn up in their thousands to cheer the boys on.

Over the next few months we will be running a number of events in conjunction with our sponsors and would love for you to  support them by attending. Please keep a look out on our club website and the match day programme for further information.

In this current climate where most clubs in the sporting world are struggling to find new finances and many have fallen foul of the “credit crunch” Pontypridd RFC continues to grow both on and off the field. We would like to increase our sponsorship portfolio from local businesses across RCT and beyond and ask the help of our supporters who maybe able to put me in contact with company and business owners to draw their attention to the “Pontypridd brand”. Lets shout about it outside of the normal match day environment and make more people aware of us in the business world outside.

It is important that we also look at increasing our attendances and bring in the next level of supporters as well as attracting those supporters who are feeling disillusioned with rugby in general. Many have supported the club in the past and we need to draw them back, making them aware of the special feeling around Sardis Road at the moment.

This is an exciting time to become involved with Ponty Rugby with the team competing at the top of the Premiership and with the British & Irish Cup around the corner.

The club would welcome any leads or suggestions from its loyal and passionate supporters and any contacts with local or national companies who may wish to sponsor or advertise with the club for next season.
