Valleys Derby in the first round of the Premiership Cup

The Welsh Rugby Union conducted the draw for the first round of the Welsh Premiership Cup earlier today and the outcome for Pontypridd RFC is a mouth-watering Valleys Derby tie against Merthyr RFC at Sardis Road.

The two Valley rivals were the last couple of clubs out of the hat with Ponty getting the benefit of home advantage. The match will take place on Saturday 23rd September 2023 at Sardis Road, kick-off at 2:30pm. The full draw, which includes byes for three clubs can be seen below.
