The Senior Leg of the 2023 Sardis 7s takes place today – Saturday 5th August at Sardis Road. Last year’s three-day competition was a huge success and this year’s competition will be no different.

The Youth Leg of the tournament kicked off the three day event yesterday evening. After a fantastic evening of running rugby, Pontypridd Youth won the Plate and Merthyr Youth were crowned Cup champions – well done to all teams! (More details to follow in due course in the Tournament Report).

This year, over the three days we will be welcoming Cambrian Welfare RFC, Llantwit Fardre RFC, Newbridge RFC, Brecon RFC, Abercwmboi RFC, St Peters RFC, Durbins Devils, Carmarthen Warriors, Caldicot RFC, University of South Wales, Pick & Shovel, The Wrong Turn 7s, Cilfynydd RFC, High Motive Commandos, Pontypridd Youth, Cynon Crusaders, Beddau RFC, St Albans RFC, Abercynon RFC, Tondu RFC, Morrison RFC, Merthyr RFC, Rhydyfelin RFC and Pontyclun RFC to Sardis Road.

  • Sunday 6th August – U16’s 7s Tournament, midday – 3:30pm.

The Clubhouse will be open from 11:00am on both Saturday and Sunday, the price of entry is £5.00 per person.

Aside from the rugby there will be lots going on in and around the ground including food stalls, face painting, raffle prizes, live music and much more!

The Saturday leg of the tournament will be followed by Wales v England on the big screen in the Clubhouse, that match kicks off at 5.30pm and we’ll be showing all the action live. On Sunday there will be a BBQ after the U16’s leg of the tournament.

Pontypridd RFC has recently launched the team’s fantastic new home shirt for the 2023/24 season and supporters will be able to purchase theirs on Saturday during the Men’s leg of the tournament.

Ponty’s new home shirt is priced at £45.00 each.

So there you have it, with lots going on both on and off the pitch Sardis Road is the place to be this weekend!
