Tournament Preview – Sardis 7’s 4th-6th August

The 2023 Sardis 7s is nearly upon us – the 7’s tournament is taking place over three consecutive days at Sardis Road and it all gets underway this Friday 4th August with the Youth leg of the tournament.

Last year’s three-day competition was a huge success. Again, the Youth leg got the weekend underway and Rhydyfelin won the Bowl, Pontypridd won the Plate and Maesteg Celtic were crowned Cup Champions.

On Saturday 6th August 2022 it was hot off the pitch and it was scorching on the pitch! The day’s action came to a dramatic climax with Cilfynydd RFC defeating Llantwit Fardre 14-5 to lift the Plate and, following a close-fought battle, the High Motive Commandos were crowned Cup Champions of the Senior Leg of the tournament by beating Porth Panthers 12 points to 5.

On the Sunday the U13’s and U12’s tournaments brought the curtain down on a brilliant weekend of rugby action. In the U13’s age category Beddau won the Bowl, Llantwit Fardre won the Plate and St. Albans were crowned Cup Champions. In the U12’s leg Pontypridd won the Bowl, Llantwit Fardre won the Plate and Mountain Ash won the Cup.
