Rugby is back – Ponty v Newport

At long last, after an almost eighteen month imposed absence, the playing of rugby returns to Sardis Road and a Pontypridd team will run out in front of its eagerly awaiting home support.

On Saturday 14th August Ponty commence their pre-season itinerary with a friendly match against Premiership rivals Newport, kicking off at 2:30pm.

Admission for the game is priced at £10 / £8 concessions, allowing access to all areas of the ground. Under 16s will be allowed in free when accompanied by a responsible adult – groups of unattended under 16s will not be allowed in. Please note that admission payments on the day will be by cash only and access to the stadium will be by the main Sardis Rd entrance, not by the Pwllgwaun end.

The gates will be open from midday with a feast of sport relayed live on the TV screens in the Clubhouse. Premiership football will be on show with Leeds v Man Utd kicking off at 12:30pm and Liverpool v Norwich at 5:30pm. The Rugby Championship international between South Africa and Argentina will be screened live at 4pm.

The main event of course will take place out on the 3G pitch at 2:30pm as Pontypridd get back into action against Newport. It’s the day that all passionate Ponty supporters have been long awaiting and surely one that they dare not miss. We’ll see you there.
