Premiership round up – 21/12/19

It will be a Merry Christmas for Cardiff RFC, who go into the festive break a full fifteen points clear at the top of the Premiership table.

The latest of eleven successive victories for the capital club came on Saturday 21st December, with a 20pts to 25 result in their favour away to Llandovery.

Carmarthen Quins held on to second position in the table despite going down narrowly by 22pts to 18 against Merthyr at Y Wern, and having led by 12pts to 13 at the break.

Pontypridd put an end to Llanelli’s impressive run of five wins with a 26pts to 15 result at the House of Pain. Aberavon in the meantime put behind them a sequence of four defeats, securing a home win by 26pts to 11 against basement club Ebbw Vale. Bridgend were 17pts to 3 victors over Swansea at the Brewery Field, staying just ahead of Ebbw in the relegation zone.
