Premiership round up – 17/11/19

Cardiff pulled eleven points clear at the top of the Premiership on Saturday 16th November after their seventh successive victory, whilst early season trail blazers Aberavon went down to their first defeat of the campaign, and that against bottom club Llanelli.

The action got underway on Friday evening as Merthyr edged a 33pts to 31 home win over a defiant Llandovery, a late Matthew Jarvis penalty proving decisive.

The following day Cardiff continued their irrepressible form as they came away from Bridgend with a 12pts to 34 bonus point win, consigning the Ravens to bottom place in the table. Aberavon lost their 100% winning record with a shock 11pts to 16 home defeat against strugglers Llanelli.

Ebbw Vale slumped to eleventh position with a 20pts to 26 defeat against visitors Carmarthen Quins, whilst RGC claimed a 21pts to 3 home victory over Swansea.

The weekend concluded in thrilling fashion at Rodney Parade on Sunday as Pontypridd edged a 35pts to 37 win over Newport, both teams harvesting a try bonus point.
