Premiership East round up – 16/09/17

Bedwas consolidated their top placing in the Premiership East table following the round of games played on the weekend of 16th September, the only club with a maximum points return.

Bedwas made it four wins out of four with four try scoring bonus points following an emphatic 37pts to 5 home win over Bargoed. Cardiff kept in touch at the top with a 49pts to 19 home victory over Cross Keys, running in six tries with three of those claimed by centre Will Rees-Hole.

In a valleys derby that exploded to life in the second half, Pontypridd claimed a bonus point win by 42pts to 29 over Merthyr. Newport climbed to fourth position in the table with a second successive victory, by 25pts to 27 away at Ebbw Vale.
