Pontypridd v Cardiff University – Match Preview

On Friday 5th April Pontypridd RFC welcome Cardiff University to Sardis Road. The friendly match between the two sides kicks off at 7:30pm.

Ponty have played many matches against different University, College and Medical sides over the decades but Friday’s match will be the first time that the Club has played Cardiff University. Cardiff Uni play in the BUCS Super Rugby division and won the Welsh Varsity in 2023, and their current player Louis Rochefort-Shugar will also be familiar to the Ponty faithful having made seven appearances for the Club this season.

Pontypridd will be utilising its current squad and its wider squad as well as Youth players and members of the USW side. It will be a great opportunity for supporters to come and watch an enjoyable game of rugby on what would have been a weekend with no match. This Friday will also mark Ponty’s last piece of rugby action at Sardis Road this season, so it’ll give both the team and our supporters one last chance to come together at home in 2023/24.
