Matchday Preview – Pontypridd v Aberavon

This Saturday 8th October Pontypridd welcome the Wizards of Aberavon to Sardis Road, the Indigo Group Premiership match kicks off at 2:30pm.

Last season the two clubs met only once during a shortened league campaign due to covid. On Saturday 29th January 2022 a Cally James-inspired Ponty performance, which included him bagging the home side’s only try and earning a double Man of the Match award(s) wasn’t enough as Avon left Sardis with a 25-16 win.

Ponty and Aberavon’s last meeting before the Covid-19 pandemic was again at Sardis Road, a late Aled Thomas penalty broke Ponty hearts and sealed a dramatic 16-15 win on Saturday 2nd November 2019. Pontypridd will be going all-out to ensure they are on the right side of the score-line when the two teams meet this week.
