Next up for Pontypridd RFC is the second in a trilogy of consecutive away matches in the Indigo Group Welsh Premiership – this Saturday 4th March we head west to play Llanelli RFC at Parc y Scarlets, kick-off is 2:30pm.

Saturday heralds Ponty’s first match at Parc y Scarlets for over four years. The last time the two clubs played in Llanelli was on Saturday 22nd December 2018. A brace of tries from Dale Stuckey and one from Ceri Sweeney, who also added a conversion along with Ben Jones who kicked a conversion and penalty which saw Ponty claim the win by 22 points to 3.

The two sides met earlier in the season at Sardis Road. On Saturday 29th October 2022 tries from Daf Rotie, Lloyd Rowlands, Tom Harper and Morgan Bosanko secured Ponty a 4-try bonus point, but the home side were denied victory when Josh Phillips’ conversion with the last play of the match following a late, late try gave Llanelli a dramatic 31-29 win.

Last Friday Ponty showed character albeit in defeat away at The Wern against Merthyr. On the same evening Llanelli lost 45-17 away against Bridgend.
