Match Preview – Pontypridd v Llanelli

This Saturday 29th October Pontypridd lock horns with Llanelli RFC in the Indigo Group Premiership, the match at Sardis Road kicks off at 2:30pm.

It will be a return to action for Ponty for the first time in more than two weeks following our ‘fallow’ week in the Welsh Cup last weekend.

Last season the two clubs only met once during the shortened league campaign on Saturday 2nd April 2021 at Sardis Road – Ponty earned a hard-fought 19-13 win thanks to a Sion Parry try. Prior to that the two teams met pre-covid on Saturday 21st December 2019, Ponty came out on top in that encounter 26-15 – Alex Webber and Joel Raikes were the try scorers at Sardis Road that afternoon.

Team news –

Ponty will be looking to build on the hard-fought win away Carmarthen Quins and have made four changes to the XV that took to the field at Carmarthen Park. In the backs Ceri Morris returns in the centre along with Rory Harries at scrum-half. In the forwards Aled Ward and Cally James are drafted back into the side on the flanks, skipper Kris Parker reverts back into the second-row.

On the bench there’s a return to the matchday squad for Matt Bancroft.
