Match Preview – Carmarthen Quins v Pontypridd

Pontypridd travel to Carmarthen Park to play Carmarthen Quins on Thursday 13th October, the Indigo Group Premiership match kicks off at 7:30pm. The contest is also being shown live on S4C’s online streaming service S4C Clic.

Last season the two sides only met once in the league, in December 2021 and Ponty won the match 31-24 at Sardis Road. Ponty’s last visit to Carmarthen Park was on 4th January 2020. The home side were victors on that occasion by 27 points to 20.

Team news –

With this week’s match being brought forward a couple of days for the S4C cameras, it’s a shorter 5-day turnaround and there are a few changes for Ponty in the pack and on the bench. Nathan Huish returns at hooker, Mitch Barnard earns his first club start in the second-row with Skipper Kris Parker moving to blind-side flanker. At open-side flanker there’s a Pontypridd debut for Daf Rotie.

The backline remains unchanged from last Saturday’s match. On the bench there are returns to the matchday squad for hooker Ryan Spriggs, prop Garyn Daniel and there’s a potential club debut for back-rower Daniel Phillips.
