Liam Lloyd signs for Pontypridd

Pontypridd RFC are very pleased to announce the signing of Liam Lloyd from Treorchy RFC.

The 23 year old who is equally efficient in both the fullback and wing positions, joins the Club from the Zebras in readiness for the 2023/24 campaign having also played on permit for Ebbw Vale during last season. Prior to that, Liam has also played in the Welsh Premiership for Merthyr and represented Cardiff Blues U16’s and U18’s at regional Age Grade level.

On signing for Ponty, Liam said: “I’m really looking forward to being involved at the club next season. Pontypridd’s a big club who play a great style of rugby. I’m very grateful for the opportunity and I’m excited to push myself to challenge for a place in the side.”

Ponty Joint Head Coach Gareth Wyatt said: “We are excited to welcome Liam to Pontypridd. He’s another Rhondda Schools and Coleg y Cymoedd graduate alongside the Treorchy youth and senior teams. Liam is an excellent addition to our back-three ranks, and he knows his way to the try line as well as being a well-rounded player who will bring added quality to the squad for the 2023-24 season.”
