Smith, Joe

Having come up through the ranks of Pontypridd Youth, Joe Smith had spells with Cilfynydd and Cardiff before returning to Ponty as a senior player.

A strong running, and hard tackling centre, Joe captained Pontypridd in 1967, and went on to become a member of the elite "300 club" with his tally of appearances for the club.

Having gained representative honours with Glamorgan County, Joe Smith went on to coach Pontypridd in 1973, following his retirement as a player.
