Dai Francis had already gained experience with his local club Beddau at Championship level before joining up with Pontypridd in 2018.
A serving police officer, who had played rugby for the force at Welsh and British level, Dai was a rangy scrum half who could offer a physical presence at the base of the scrum.
His contribution to Pontypridd was limited to 11 appearances during his one season stay.
