Welsh Premiership Cup – All to play for, keep the faith!

It’s all to play for as we head into the tenth and final round of pool matches in the Indigo Welsh Premiership Cup. Despite coming off the back of two losses against Merthyr and Cardiff, a win on Saturday 27th November against RGC will likely see us qualify for the knock-out stages (barring some unlikely anomalies).

The top 4 teams from each pool in the east and west go through to the knock-out stages. As can be seen from the table above we sit in 5th position, one place and two points behind RGC who are in the all important 4th and last qualification position. Pontypridd travel north to play RGC at Parc Eirias, the home team are coming off three excellent wins – firstly at home against Merthyr and then two on the road against Newport and more recently last Friday at Ebbw Vale.

The crucial match this Saturday kicks off at 2.30pm in North Wales. Looking ahead to the make-or-break tie in the pool stage, Team Manager Dan Godfrey said: “Next week’s match is a big game to finish off this cup campaign. It’s been a learning curve for our young squad which will only benefit their development.”

It’s going to take a big performance from Ponty to get what we need to qualify, but with you, our amazing supporters behind us we can do it!

Keep the faith, We Are Ponty
