The Mini & Junior Co-operative

The Pontypridd RFC Mini & Junior Section is launching a fund-raising drive in conjunction with local Co-Op shops and are appealing for support.

The Mini & Juniors have been selected as a ‘Co-Op local cause’ and when registered users or members purchase goods in their local Co-Op store, a 1% donation will be made to the section up until October 2020.

Supporters will need to register with the scheme or become Co-Op members, which can be done through the link:

About this cause

The Pontypridd RFC Mini & Junior section is a self-funding, non-profit organisation run solely by volunteers. Our vision is to educate children and young adults in the core skills and values of rugby union. These include teamwork, a strong work ethic, and a healthy respect for officials, coaches, opposition players, parents and team mates. We do this by providing strong role models for the children and a supportive culture that positively influences behaviour on and off the field of play. We currently have over 200 playing members over 11 age groups (6–16) and believe we provide an essential service to the community.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Purchase of the mower will enable us to be self-sufficient in maintaining the park and our playing surface. This is essential to ensure our survival as an organisation and to continue providing a safe and welcoming environment for our 200 young playing members (age 6–16). The park is also accessible to the local community and our maintenance will make it more appealing to everyone.
