Premiership round up – 27/10/19

Cardiff maintained their winning record and held on to top spot in the Premiership in the round of games played on the weekend of 26th October, which also saw bottom club Llanelli claim a first victory.

It was on Saturday evening that the capital club played out a 22pts to 29 win away to RGC in front of the TV cameras, confirming their status as league leaders. Earlier in the day the only other team with a 100% record, Aberavon had their game against Llandovery postponed due to the weather.

Pontypridd climbed up to fourth place in the table with a last gasp victory at Bridgend by 21pts to 23, Diggy Bird’s conversion with the final kick of the game sealing their first away win of the campaign. Llanelli also won away, by 10pts to 29 at Ebbw Vale with a bonus point added, giving them some comfort at the foot of the table.

Carmarthen Quins secured a 21pts to 12 home win over Swansea, whilst on Sunday, reigning champions Merthyr reversed a losing trend by claiming a 17pts to 29 victory down at Newport.
