Premiership round up – 23/11/19

The main focus of the weekend was on two Friday night games, with the top four clubs in the Premiership going head to head.

Cardiff remained top and the only team to maintain a 100% winning record, but by the skin of their teeth as they edged out Aberavon by 13pts to 12 at the Arms Park, the Wizards outscoring their hosts on tries by two to one.

Pontypridd hit top form to beat valley rivals Merthyr by 31pts to 7 and claim second position in the rankings.

On Saturday Carmarthen Quins eased past Bridgend with a 38pts to 8 victory, elevating them to third place and leaving the Ravens rooted at the bottom of the table.

Llanelli continued their recent revival with a 23pts to 15 home win over Newport whilst Ebbw Vale claimed only their second win of the campaign, by 23pts to 31 away to RGC. A close encounter was witnessed at St Helens where Llandovery battled out a valuable 14pts to 16 away win against Swansea.
