Premiership round up 11/01/20

The round of games played on the weekend of 11th January saw little change in the Premiership rankings but with some important clashes in the middle and at the bottom of the table.

Cardiff maintained their healthy advantage at the top despite not playing, their fixture at Swansea called off due to illness in the home camp.

The action got underway on Friday evening when Aberavon edged a 8pts to 10 victory away at Newport.  The following day the Wizards were leapfrogged in the table by Merthyr who posted a bonus point 29pts to 12 home win over struggling Bridgend.

Ebbw Vale drew level on points with Bridgend after a creditable 10pts all draw away to Llandovery, but the Steelmen remaining bottom placed having won one less game. Pontypridd held on to fifth position and put a seven point margin between themselves and their opponents RGC with a 27pts to 12 win at Sardis Road.
