Premiership round up – 07/03/20

Cardiff’s lead at the top of the Premiership table was trimmed to seven points following the round of games played on Saturday 7th March.

The capital team travelled to face third placed Aberavon and came away with a 20pts to 18 defeat in a tight encounter, both sides scoring two tries apiece and an additional Aled Thomas conversion for the Wizards making all the difference.

Carmarthen Quins maintained pressure on the league leaders with a 14pts to 20 away win at Bridgend, leaving the Ravens stranded eight points adrift at the bottom of the table. That gap was also due to fellow strugglers Ebbw Vale edging a creditable 20pts to 17 home win over RGC.

Llandovery held on to fourth place in the rankings with a 21pts to 10 victory over Swansea at Church Bank whilst Pontypridd took the spoils in the valleys derby, coming away from Merthyr with a 27pts to 36 win.
