Premiership round up – 01/09/18

Five teams secured maximum points as the Premiership campaign got underway on Saturday 1st September.

Llandovery ended the day in pole position following a nine try romp away to Bargoed, with a result of 22pts to 62 in their favour. Ebbw Vale ran in six tries as they won away at Llanelli by 10pts to 43.

Pontypridd staged a strong second half rally to claim a 23pts to 33 win at Bedwas, whilst Cross Keys won by 32pts to 25 against Bridgend at Pandy Park. Newport also secured a bonus point win by 12pts to 29 away to Carmarthen Quins.

RGC were 32pts to 19 victors over Neath with Aberavon also making the most of home advantage with a 24pts to 10 win over Swansea. Cardiff let slip a 15pts to 0 interval advantage to eventually lose to reigning champions Merthyr by 18pts to 24.
