Ponty Youth record big win over Newport HSOB

Pontypridd Youth recorded an impressive 52pts to 12 win over Newport HSOB in a home friendly played on Saturday 23d September.

The fixture gave both teams an opportunity to allow their younger squad members to showcase their abilities.

In the early exchanges the game was played with pace and ambition, giving the crowd a display of end to end rugby. There were plenty of chances created at each end but it was Ponty who finished off theirs to go in at the interval 17pts to 5 up.

Both teams rang the changes at half time but maintaining consistency in their  performances and looking to attack at every opportunity.  Pontypridd continued to play an expansive game and were clinical in finishing off the chances created.

Although the Newport side finished strongly to score two late tries, the game was already won by a Ponty team who had claimed eight touchdowns of their own.

Pontypridd try scorers were Dafydd Smith (2), Clyde Mullock (2), Keilan Mahoney (2), Kieron Gough and Jake Morgan, with Bailey Roberts adding six conversions.
