Joey Williams made 3 appearances for Pontypridd RFC during the 2024/25 season whilst still being attached to the Ponty Youth team. He played for Ponty Minis and Juniors from U9s to U13s before that particular age group disbanded and he moved on and played for Llantrisant RFC and Cambrian RFC.
Joey then moved away from the egg-shaped ball to concentrate on the round-shaped ball playing for Swansea City FC. The young scrum-half then returned to rugby playing for Pontypridd Schools in the Dewar Shield. Joey played all of his youth rugby at Pontypridd RFC and his age grade representative honours as well as Ponty Schools includes Cardiff North age grade captain, Cardiff Rugby U18s and Captain of Coleg y Cymoedd.
Joey graduated from Ponty Youth to the senior squad in the summer of 2025 in readiness for the new season.
