Pontypridd RFC announced the permanent signing of Iwan Griffith from Bridgend Ravens ready for the 2025/26 season. The wing or centre joined Ponty after making 4 appearances for the Club the previous season whilst on permit from the Ravens.
As a youngster Iwan attended Ysgol Llanhari and represented Pontypridd Schools at both U11s and U16s age grade levels. His Ponty Schools involvement didn’t end there and in 2022 he helped coach their U16s side along with Kristian Parker, Garyn Smith and Cally James.
Iwan’s academic studies saw him study at Cardiff Met University and whilst there he played in BUCS Super Rugby and the Welsh Championship. A move to Bridgend followed in 2022 where he played in both the Welsh Premiership and Super Rygbi Cymru last season. Iwan made his debut for Pontypridd on Saturday 18th January 2024 against Llangennech, and his bow for the Club could not have gone any better as he bagged a hat-trick and the Golden Bob Man of the Match award.
