Match Preview – Bridgend v Pontypridd

Pontypridd travel to the Timbuild Brewery Field to play Bridgend Ravens on Thursday 17th March, the Indigo Group Premiership match kicks off at 7:30pm. The contest is also being shown live on S4C’s online streaming service S4C Clic.

It’s more than two years since the clubs last met. On the previous occasion, which was the 25th January 2020, Ponty won the match by the narrowest of margins – 18-17 at Sardis Road thanks to a late Lloyd Rowlands try.

It’s a return to league action now for Ponty for the remainder of the season and just a 5 day turnaround from Saturday’s narrow cup loss at Llandovery.

Ponty make just two changes to the starting line-up from last weekend, Joel Raikes returns to the team having been on the bench against Llandovery and in the pack there’s a return for hooker Rob Jones. Ieuan Morris and Dafydd Buckland move from the starting XV to the bench whilst there’s also a return to the matchday squad for lock James Little.

The Pontypridd team selected to play Bridgend is as follows:

15. Cole Swannack. 14. Jac Davies. 13. Bradley Roderick. 12. Garyn Payne. 11. Dale Stuckey. 10. Ceri Morris. 9. Joel Raikes

1. Ben Stephens. 2. Rob Jones. 3. Tom Harper. 4. Kristian Parker (c). 5. Chris Dicomidis. 6. Cally James. 7. Sion Parry. 8. Joe Miles

Subs: 16. Ieuan Morris. 17. Tom Devine. 18. Morgan Bosanko. 19. Jack Pope. 20. Cai James. 21. Joel Raikes. 22. Jake Lloyd. 23. Llywarch ap Myrddin
