A product of Penygraig RFC, Lloyd Evans led Ponty Youth to National Cup triumph in 2015 before going on to play for Beddau in the Championship, captaining the club for the past two years.

Aged 22 and standing at 6ft4in Lloyd has also represented the University of South Wales, and offers a physical presence able to cover the second and back row positions.

Joining up with his USW coach Justin Burnell at Sardis Road, Lloyd Evans feels the time is right for his Ponty return.

“It was always in my mind to come back to Pontypridd when the circumstances allowed, and having talked to Justin and team manager Dan Godfrey, I feel the opportunity has now come” said Lloyd.

“The club is moving in the right direction, bringing on young local talent and hopefully being able to challenge for honours. It will be a competitive environment in the squad and my first aim is to get some game time and to contribute to the club’s success.”
