A local lad, Dylan John started playing rugby for Pontypridd Mini and Juniors and progressed through the age groups in the section as a youngster. In 2018 Dylan also won the Dewar Shield whilst playing for Pontypridd Schools U15s.
After junior rugby Dylan progressed into Pontypridd Youth whilst studying in Coleg y Cymoedd. It wasn’t long until regional age grade representation came along when the young flanker was selected to represent Cardiff Blues U17s. Dylan then made the relatively short journey eastwards to The Bridge Field, Bedwas RFC. It was whilst with Bedwas he made his senior bow in Welsh rugby before joining Rhydyfelin RFC, where he played for two seasons.
Dylan then moved to Sardis Road in the summer of 2024 and following his involvement in Ponty’s pre-season matches, he made his official debut during the team’s opening day Premiership win against Bargoed. He departed the club to return to Rhydyfelin in the first half of the 2024/25 season.
