COLEG Y CYMOEDD REACH THEIR 7TH CONSECUTIVE FINAL

Emma Rogers

With the Pontypridd Valleys Rugby Initiative focused on the development pathway that allows young players to develop during education, one of our primary partners within the initiative, Coleg Y Cymoedd, have made it to the final the Welsh colleges and schools final  for the 7th consecutive year. We caught up with Director of Rugby Lee Davies at their Sardis Road hub to get his thoughts on the fantastic achievement & Tuesdays game.

Coleg y Cymoedd Rugby are very fortunate to receive the support and backing we do, this allows us to run a successful rugby programme. Although this is the 7th consecutive year we have met Coleg Sir Gar in the Welsh Colleges and schools final, the competition has been extremely close this year, with anyone of the top four teams easily replacing the other Tuesday night. I think this is a credit to the league and the standards held across the board.

As always the challenge ahead is enormous, Coleg Sir Gar are an exceptionally talented team &  are very well coached. They will certainly be prepared for the game. We, as a group have worked hard to get to this point. Having  started back in July, the boys have shown huge amounts of talent and dedication to get us to this point.

The work has been done now, it’s just for the boys to go out and express themselves.

It would be great to have the support of the Ponty fans , for what I am sure will be a great game of rugby and a fantastic advert for the competition and for players of the future. The game kicks off at 7.30 pm on Tuesday 8th January at Sardis Road.
