2025 Pre-season Schedule Confirmed
Preparations are already underway behind the scenes to get the team ready for the new season, and Pontypridd RFC can now confirm its 2025 pre-season itinerary.
Once again the Sardis 7s tournament is back this summer and as per the last few seasons, it will kick the Club’s pre-season off in style. The 2025 Sardis 7s will take place over three consecutive days at Sardis Road from Friday 25th to Sunday 27th July 2025, with the Senior Leg taking place on the Saturday 26th July.
The following week is the Joel Raikes and Dale Stuckey Testimonial Match. Celebrating two current greats of the Club, a Raikes & Stuckey Select XV will play the current Pontypridd team on Saturday 2nd August at Sardis Road and will kick off at 2:30pm.
Then on Saturday 9th August we are delighted to welcome Newport RFC back to Sardis Road for the first time since 29th February 2024, kick-off will be 2:30pm.
On Saturday 16th August we welcome local neighbours Cilfynydd RFC to Sardis Road. There are plenty of links between Ponty and Cil, including ex-Ponty no.8 Owen Sheppeard who has recently been appointed Cilfynydd Head Coach.
The following Saturday 23rd August, for the second consecutive pre-season we hit the road to picturesque West Wales to play Tenby United RFC. The match at Heywood Lane will kick-off at 2:30pm and we are looking forward to the West Walians’ fantastic hospitality once again.
Pontypridd RFC’s pre-season schedule then draws to a close the following Saturday 30th August when we welcome St Albans to Sardis Road for the second pre-season in a row nearly a year to the day. The Buns visited Sardis last year on Saturday 31st August.

Saturday 26th July: The Sardis 7s Senior Leg, Sardis Road – Midday start*
Saturday 2nd August: Joel Raikes & Dale Stuckey Testimonial Match, Sardis Road – 2:30pm kick-off
Saturday 9th August: Pontypridd v Newport, Sardis Road – 2:30pm kick-off
Saturday 16th August: Pontypridd v Cilfynydd, Sardis Road – 2:30pm kick-off
Saturday 23rd August – Tenby United v Pontypridd, Heywood Lane – 2:30pm kick-off
Saturday 30th August – Pontypridd v St Albans, Sardis Road – 2:30pm kick-off
