Weekend wipeout

The Welsh rugby fixture list has been wiped out on the weekend of 3d March as the country remains under a blanket of heavy snow.

The National Cup quarter final round will need to be re-scheduled, with all four ties postponed – Bargoed v Ebbw Vale; Bedwas v Newport; Cross Keys v Llandovery; Merthyr v Pontypool.

The one Premiership match due to have been played, between Pontypridd and Carmarthen, has also been called off.

All Championship matches have suffered the same fate and a search down the league structure comes up with the same result, with the letter ‘P’ prominent.

Storm Emma has come and gone and the ‘beast from the east’ is in retreat, but no rugby will be played in Wales this weekend.
