We travelled down to Stradey Park for our last away game, with a
big build up to the game, being televised live and being Llanelli RFC’s last match at
the famous old ground.

In my last blog I called for our supporters to come out in
numbers for the home game against Cardiff. We had a decent crowd on
the day, who were hopefully entertained, during the first half at
least, and witnessed a tense finish, and most importantly a Ponty
win.

After the washout of the Newport game, we ended up gathering for
a training session with conditioning coach Mark “Curly” Powell.
There were plenty of volunteers to do some mopping up around the
ground instead, but a gruelling fitness session it was to be!

since then we’ve played against Beddau and Rotherham – two tough
games.

Following the hundred plus points win over Dinas Powys, where
all our newcomers showed up really well, we were looking forward to
the away trip to Penzance. We’d see then what we could do against a
tougher standard of opposition, knowing that Mounts Bay would give
us a challenge.
