A giant killing act was performed by Division One East side Ebbw Vale who took the scalp of Premiership opponents Carmarthen Quins at Eugene Cross Park by 16pts to 6.
Bridgend Athletic could not match that feat but offered Neath a tough challenge only going down by 14pts to 20 and having led at the interval.
Cross Keys battled through against Rumney, winning by 36pts to 18 whilst Newbridge took the honours in the Division One Gwent derby beating Bargoed by 13pts to 3.
In a high scoring all Premiership tie Cardiff made the most of home advantage to secure a win over Llanelli by 35pts to 29.
