The 2007 – 2008 league campaign is building up to a thrilling climax for Pontypridd, with the battle to secure a final second place finish in the Principality Premiership still being engaged.
Ponty’s fine away win at Neath on Friday evening – securing a creditable season’s double over the champions – and Swansea’s emphatic home win over Ebbw Vale on the same night, has laid open the contest for second position in the league.
All will finally be decided in a crunch double header of matches on Tuesday evening 6th May, involving the top four clubs in the league, as Cardiff play Pontypridd and Neath play Swansea.
Cardiff currently occupy second position in the premiership, on 76 points, with Swansea and Pontypridd lying close behind, tied on 75 points. All three clubs have the one fixture remaining.
The storyline for the climax of the league season could not have been better written. Pontypridd now travel to face their age old rivals Cardiff on Tuesday evening 6th May, with the aim of securing a famous victory and in the hope of seizing a final second place finish in the Principality Premiership.
