Rees, W.E.

Police officer W.E.Rees was an imposing figure, and captain of the Pontypridd team when they played some real blood and thunder encounters against the likes of Neath and Bridgend at the People's Park.

In those days at the end of the nineteenth century, the Glamorgan championship was the main competition, with local derbies against teams such as Llwynypia, Treherbert and Penygraig, being the big games of the day.
