Pontypridd lost out in the semi final round of the British & Irish Cup, going down to a home defeat by 25pts to 36 against Bristol.
The English Championship side were emphatic winners on the day, but in a game which Pontypridd keenly contested right to the very end.
In his post match reaction, Ponty team manager Richard Langmead was full of praise for his squad.
“We can not fault the effort put in by our players today” said Langmead “but we were up against a Bristol side who were just too well organised and too strong for us.
“The British & Irish Cup has been a great competition for us this year, and we did not let ourselves down by any account. Bristol were a better team on the day, and full credit to them for their achievement in reaching the final.
“Our support at Sardis Road today was fantastic, a credit to our club. We can now look forward, players and supporters, to contesting the Welsh Cup Final at the Millennium Stadium a week Monday, which will be another great occasion.”
