Premiership Round Up

With the launch of the 2010 Six Nations tournament on Saturday 6^th February, the Principality Premiership schedule was spread over a three day period leading into the weekend.

Llanelli got the ball rolling on Thursday evening 4^th February, and set the trend for games to follow by registering an emphatic, eight try bonus point win by 49pts to 3 against Ebbw Vale.

The following evening both Cardiff and Newport followed suit with high scoring bonus point victories. Cardiff saw off bottom placed club Pontypool by 30pts to 5 whilst Newport came up trumps in their Gwent derby against Cross Keys by 45pts to 19.

Bonus point wins were to be the theme going into Saturday 6^th February. Table toppers Neath continued to harvest tries, touching down on eight occasions in their 48pts to 17 win over Glamorgan Wanderers.

Pontypridd needed much of the same just to keep in touch with the leading pack of clubs, and duly obliged with a six try, 46pts to 7 romp against Bedwas.

The only winning team who bucked the trend by not gaining the additional point were Aberavon, who ran out victors by 30pts to 22 against Carmarthen Quins.
