There was a limited Premiership fixture list on the weekend of 25th February due to the Six Nations tournament schedule, but plenty of action which had an impact on the league positions.
The weekend kicked off on Friday evening as Swansea secured a valuable away win at Bridgend by 27pts to 15.
The battle at the top end of the table recommenced on Saturday with Neath making the most of an opportunity to reclaim pole position. It was a mighty close result, but Neath claimed a one point victory, 15pts to 14 over Cardiff which gave them the impetus to leapfrog Llandovery to top spot.
Aberavon kept up the pressure on the leading clubs with an emphatic 40pts to 19 home win over Newport. Carmarthen Quins hauled themselves up into fourth position, overtaking Pontypridd whom they defeated by 27pts to 26 with a last gasp penalty kick deciding the outcome.
Close fought encounters were the order of the day as Cross Keys also secured a one point victory, claiming the win away at Llanelli by 12pts to 13.
