Premiership round up – 19/10/19

Cardiff and Aberavon maintained their 100% records in the Premiership after the round of games played on the weekend of 19th October, the capital team topping the table courtesy of two additional bonus points.

The action got underway in front of the Scrum V cameras on Friday night as Pontypridd secured a 32pts to 25 bonus point home win over Ebbw Vale.

On Saturday Aberavon proved their credentials as title contenders by beating reigning champions Merthyr by 22pts to 29 at Y Wern. The Ironmen had led at the break by 22pts to 10 but the second half belonged to the Wizards.

Llandovery ran in six tries as they comprehensively defeated visitors Bridgend by 40pts to 13 and there was a try fest at Parc y Scarlets where RGC outscored their hosts Llanelli by five touchdowns to six and 34pts to 43.

Swansea kept in touch with the leading pack by posting a narrow 31pts to 28 home win over Newport, whilst Cardiff regained their place at the top of the table in the televised evening game with a 34pts to 20 home win over Carmarthen.
