Premiership round up – 07/04/18

There were four Premiership matches played on Saturday 7th April, a day allocated to the National Cup semi finals.

Even though on cup duty, Merthyr maintained a healthy seven point lead at the top of the league table as Carmarthen Quins went down to a rare defeat, by 11pts to 6 away to a resurgent Bridgend.

RGC and Cardiff also lost momentum, going down to away defeats.

Bedwas recorded a 31pts to 27 bonus point win over the capital team whilst Pontypridd took the honours in an enthralling contest at Sardis Road, holding out for a 25pts to 20 victory over RGC.

Bottom club Neath celebrated their first win in the integrated league, by 7pts to 17 away to Swansea.
