Pontypridd/Cardiff Merger

It seems Pontypridd RFC and Cardiff RFC have, after long talks, come to an agreement on David Moffett's Welsh Provincial Plan, and from next season onwards, a merged team will take to the field for European and Celtic League clashes.

The decision is viewed with enormous trepidation by this commentator, I understand that Cardiff view the "merger" less as a merger and more as a takeover of Pontypridd Rugby Football Club. This will undoubtedly come as a shock to Pontypridd supporters, but I would imagine that the Pontypridd management and backers would be slightly more concerned!

Any merger must be a 50/50 partnership or not at all, and Cardiff need to have that hammered home.
