8.5.2010
The competition for the “St Bart’s Flask” will resume once more as Pontypridd Youth take on Porth Harlequins Youth at Sardis Road on Monday 10th May 2010 – 6:30pm kick off.
The Flask was originally played for way back in September 1989, when two guest teams packed full of internationals met at the Porth Harlequins’ ground in a special fund raising match to aid children’s charities. The Flask has since then been proudly displayed in the trophy cabinet at Porth RFC. Pontypridd Youth won the trophy back in January 2008.
In the revival of this tradition, the hope is that a match to compete for the St Bart’s Flask will be played each time Pontypridd Youth play Porth Harlequins Youth, giving an added incentive for the players competing, and creating an opportunity to raise money for charity.
All funds raised will be donated to a local charity chosen by the young players competing on the night. Supporters are encouraged to come along to watch the game for the St Bart’s Flask on 10th May 2010. The bars at Sardis Road will be open from 5pm.
Donations can be made directly to Pontypridd RFC, marked for the attention of Martyn Lewis.
