Pontypridd Youth (seniors) forged their way to the top of the Blues League division two with a hard fought victory over Ystrad Rhondda on Saturday 26th April.
Although a home fixture for Ystrad, the Rhondda side graciously agreed to a change of venue to Sardis Road as their own ground was unavailable, and also fulfilled the fixture despite having a depleted squad.
Following a hard fought contest, Pontypridd Youth emerged as victors by 20pts to 12. Tries for Ponty were scored by winger Billy Waters and centre Dan Dearden, with full back Rhys Simms adding two conversions and two penalties.
The result hoisted Pontypridd to the top of their division, with aspirations of claiming the title and promotion to the national division one. Ponty have two crucial fixtures remaining, both against title rivals Glamorgan Wanderers.
