4.1.2011
On Sunday 2nd January Pontypridd under 10s travelled to Llanishen for their first game of 2011. After four weeks off due to the snow and a few too many chocolates over Christmas this was always going to be a really competitive game.
Both sides have excellent playing records over the last couple of years - the game started at a frantic pace and the effort from all the players was to be commended.
Playing up hill during the first half Ponty were really putting the pressure on Llanishen which resulted in the scoring of two tries and one conversion. As in previous games Ponty’s defence was to the fore as Llanishen failed to breach their line.
Half Time: Llanishen 0 Pontypridd 12
The second half started with the two teams throwing the kitchen sink at each other! There was some really attractive rugby played but Ponty added another try which saw them take Llanishen’s two and a half year unbeaten record.
This was a fantastic effort from the Ponty squad who all played their part in what was a memorable game.
Thank you to Llanishen for accepting the game at short notice and to referee who was excellent throughout
Full Time: Llanishen 0 Pontypridd 19
Scorers:
Dewi Thomas 2 tries
Jake Morgan 1 try
Kieran Gough 1 conversion
