Pontypridd RFC has finalised its senior squad to take the club into the 2011 – 2012 season.
The squad is based heavily on the pool of players who took Ponty through a hugely successful previous campaign, with a couple of new signings and an allocation of Blues Academy members bolted on.
Having shown up well as pre-season trialists, full back Harley Thomson and flanker Jordan Sieniawski are rewarded with club contracts. Both are current Wales under 18 internationals and involved in the regional age-grade system, and will surely add to the quality of the Ponty squad.
Commenting on the make up of the 2011 – 2012 squad, Pontypridd team manager Richard Langmead said: "We are very happy with the players that we have coming together for the new season. There is a potent mix of experience and fresh new talent within the squad.
"All of our trialists have shown up well, there was a high standard of competition for places, and it was a tough decision to finalise the squad.
"Most of these players got us through last season, achieving a great run of success in all competitions. That winning mentality prevails and we have put in a lot of hard work pre-season, with a lot of positives to carry us into the new campaign."
Scrum half Lewis Jones has meanwhile been drafted into the Blues squad, with prop Ryan Harford given a temporary contract with the region.
