Ponty fans all set for their Millennium day out

Pontypridd supporters are gearing up for their big day out at the Millennium Stadium, with a major exodus to Cardiff expected on Bank Holiday Monday 7^th May, to cheer Ponty on in the SWALEC Cup Final.

As in previous years when Pontypridd have reached the final round, a black and white takeover of the national stadium is on the cards.

The Big Yellow Convoy of supporters' buses to the game is now fully booked. The maximum eight Edwards' double deckers have been filled and no more reservations can be taken.

Service buses and a full timetable of Valley Line trains will ferry more Ponty fans to the national stadium.

Match tickets will be on sale on the day of the game, from the "Cardiff Arms" WRU retail outlet in front of the main entrance to the stadium.

The Pontypridd supporters’ itinerary for their Millennium day out (dress code:- smart / casual - black and white) is as follows:

• 12 noon the Sardis Road Clubhouse will be open for refreshments.
• 2pm the big yellow convoy commences down the A470 to Cardiff.
• 2:45pm (estimated) the fans will congregate in their droves at the hostelries around the national stadium, with the Gatekeeper Inn on Westgate Street being a favoured watering hole.
• 4pm – 5pm and the atmosphere inside the stadium will be simmering, with many Ponty fans arriving early to cheer on fellow valleys teams Glyncoch RFC and Penallta RFC in their SWALEC Bowl and Plate endeavours.
• 5pm kick off time. Pontypridd take on Cross Keys in the Welsh Cup Final.
• 6:30pm (estimated) the final tie will be over, and win or loose, celebrate or commiserate, the Ponty faithful will return to base camp at Sardis Road ready to greet their heroes.

It will be a day to remember, an occasion to savour, and one not to be missed.
